Paleolithic Paintings

The French Ministry of Culture and Communications has revamped its Lascaux website to include a 3-D digital exploration of the cave, as well as specialized information about the history of the latter Upper Paleolithic cave paintings of the Dordogne region. The period (34,000-9,500 BP) is noted for the appearance of bone and antler work, jewellery making, art, and religious concepts.
