Counting Blessings
It was a cool breeze from the ocean today, so we took a beach path stroll on San Francisco Bay, where the winds were buffeted by the mountains, and the sun still managed to break out at low tide. Seems the beach birds had the same idea, and we were thus treated to flocks of black turnstones, sanderlings, a loon, as well as Arctic and Caspian terns.
A surprise appearance by a river otter, and later a blue heron right in front of our viewing bench rounded things out nicely. And all this was delightfully accompanied by the audio backdrop of finches and mockingbirds behind us in the flowering shrubs.
As good an Earth day as one could ask for, I suppose.
